In three days time I'm going to a place called 'How Hill' in Norfolk I'm sure it will be FUN!!!! Myself and a few class mates are going as well. I am going on Wednesday 25th - 27th. It is a residential trip.
It was so much fun!!! the first thing I did there was go up to my room: I was staying in room number 14. Then we got into our water proofs and went down to the Dyke to do some Dyke Dipping. Under the water you are supposed to do a figure of eight and then hopefully you will catch something. After that we split into 2 groups, group 1 and group 2. I was in group1. So we split up and went on a nature walk.
I had cereal for breakfast followed by toast. After that we we split up again, group 1 went on a boat trip to see how many birds we can see, whilst group 2 did thatching.
Then we swapped round. The thatching was extremely fun.You had to thatch 5 along the bottom and 4 on top of that set of 5 with no gaps in them, and at the end we had to think of a group name. My groups name was called 'The Reeds' seeming as you make thatch roofs out from reeds. Then we had to see which group's thatching had no holes. How we did that was by sending 1 person from each group to stand under their little part of reed and each group had a different question to decide who went under.
Our groups question was ' who's beginning of their surname is closest to A in the alphabet ?'
Guess what? It was mine. So I went under there with my water proof coat and I got a little wet.
Oh, I forgot to tell you that we had points for 'Team Work', 'skill', 'water proof '. Our teams score for skill was..... '8/10' and are score for the actual thatching was..... '10/10' which apparently the person who judge had never given any one's group a 10/10.And our score for water proof was..... a half point because you can only get a point but I got a little wet so it was a half point. With a total of 18 1/2 ours drew with another team called ' The Ancient 5'.
Then we went back to the house and the tuck shop opened - I bought a recycled pencil and a recycled pen ( don't ask me how they are recycled, 'cause I don't know either ) they are both the colour orangery yellow.

| This is the picture of the wind mill, unfortunately I did not take this photo. Mike Backer took this photo |
Next we went to a wind mill . The wind mill's job was is to drain water out from the marsh because some times the marsh can over flow with water. We were allowed to go inside the wind mill. Only the the bottom bit of it because it would be hard for us to go up there because the wood isn't very stable. After that we went to this really stinky eggy-smelling place. And there, if you were to bounce up and down the ground would wobble madly.
The lady that works at How Hill told us why we could smell that horrible eggy smell. It is because when we walk on the ground the smell made by bacteria from hypoxia comes up from the ground. After that we went to a bird hide.I saw as coot which comes from America. Then we went back to How Hill House to have some lunch then we got back on the coach.
